How to Organize Your Phone Like a Pro (Even if You’re Not One)
2 September 2025 by Luis Salas
Have you ever opened your phone and felt… lost? Too many apps, hard-to-read icons, and non-stop notifications can make even the simplest task feel frustrating.
Here’s the good news: With just a few easy changes, you can create a more peaceful, useful home screen that works for you.
1. Delete What You Don’t Use
Start by long-pressing on any app you haven’t used in the past 3 months and choosing “Delete” or “Remove.”
📌 Focus on keeping the essentials: calls, camera, messages, photos, calendar, and email.
💡 Tip: Don’t worry — you can always re-download an app later if needed.
2. Group Similar Apps into Folders
Tidy things up by creating folders like:
- “Health” (step tracker, medication reminders)
- “Finance” (banking, budget apps)
- “Social” (WhatsApp, Facebook, video chat)
- “Entertainment” (YouTube, music, podcasts)
📂 Just drag one app on top of another to create a folder. Label it with something that makes sense to you.
3. Move Important Apps to the Front
Keep your most-used tools on the first screen so you can reach them with one tap — especially things like:
- Messages
- Calendar
- Camera
- Notes or reminders
Everything else can live on the second screen or in folders.
4. Tame Your Notifications
Go to Settings > Notifications, and turn off alerts from apps that don’t matter (like games or promotions).
This helps reduce stress and distraction — and lets you focus on what matters.
Final Thought
Your phone should feel like a tool — not a burden. Organizing it just a little makes everything feel easier, calmer, and more in your control.
